What this atlas will and will not do
The legit pledge
Legit only: no buying or selling gold, no bots, no exploits, no paid carries.
The name reads like a gold shop. The site is the opposite: a map of what each zone's gatherables are worth on your market, from dated player scans, with the rule that decided every stamp printed beside it. This page says exactly how.
Five lines we do not cross
-
No buying or selling gold
Gold moves only inside the game. We never link a gold seller, never price gold in dollars, and never rank a zone by how much real money its loot could fetch. The WoW Token is Blizzard's, and we only mention it as what it is.
-
No bots or input broadcasting
Every loop assumes a person at the keyboard. Addons that read the auction house or help you post are fine; software that plays for you is not, and we do not teach it, name it or route around its detection.
-
No exploits or dupes
If a method only works because of a bug, it is not on the map. Nothing here describes a terrain skip, a reset trick or a duplication.
-
No carries for real money
Gold for an in-game service follows Blizzard's advertising rules and is legitimate play. Real money for the same service is not. The site never prices, lists or recommends a paid boost.
-
No invented yields
Nobody here says they farmed anything, and no page prints a per-hour figure you did not type. Every figure is a scanned price, a vendor price from the game data, or your own lap count wearing the label measured by you.
How a verdict is decided
Every unit on every zone page carries one of four stamps. The rules live in one file, tools/verdict.py, run once per data build on our own machine, and are exported to data/atlas/method.json (rules version 2026-10-02.2). The browser renders a verdict; it never computes one. The thresholds, as that file holds them:
no data: no scan priced the unit on this market in 14 days, fewer than 3 scan points (2 for Midnight), the last scan is older than 72 hours (48 for Midnight), or fewer than 2 scans of the market in 14 days. The vendor price is still shown when known.
vendor floor: net after the 5% auction cut is at or under 1.15 times what a vendor pays, or the lowest listing is 5 copper or less when no vendor price is known. Sell to a vendor, do not list.
thin: net under 3 times the vendor price (under 50 copper when the vendor price is unknown), or the lowest listing more than 40% under the 14-day median, or down 25% or more and still falling across the scan window, or more than 5,000 units listed and down 10% or more.
worth it: none of the above. The stamp carries the net per unit, the multiple of the vendor price and the listed depth.
Beside each stamp sits one word of confidence: solid when the unit has 8 or more scan points and the scan is 24 hours old or less, otherwise light, always with the scan time. The full page, rendered from the same file so it cannot drift: how every stamp is decided.
How the daily note is made
Nothing on this site runs while you browse except your own browser. There is no chat box, no prompt field, and nothing you type on this site reaches any server. Verdicts, ranks and the daily note are built once per data build from files you can open yourself at /data/manifest.json.
Scans are copied. Player addon scans of each market and the item data arrive as JSON files with a scan time and a market on each one.
data/atlas/markets/<market>.json, data/atlas/vendor.json
Verdicts are stamped. The rules above write one verdict file per market and keep yesterday's copy for the rank arrows and the diff.
data/atlas/verdicts/<market>.json, verdicts/history/
The note is drafted from a facts packet. The packet holds what moved between the two verdict files and by how much. The draft cannot look anything up or add a figure, and it says nothing about why a price moved beyond the figures.
The draft is rule-checked. A script compares every figure in the prose against the packet and scans for banned words. A draft that fails is not published; the page shows the facts tables instead.
tools/brief_rules.py, published as data/brief/YYYY-MM-DD.json
The daily note is built from dated snapshots, rule-checked.
That line appears wherever the note appears. If a note is missing or failed its check, the home page says so and shows the figures without prose.
Where numbers come from
Every figure on the site traces to one of these sources. The market and scan time sitting in its title tell you which.
| What | Version | Source | Cadence | Used by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Listed prices, 14-day medians, listed units, 14-day sparklines | Forever US, Normal ruleset, Alliance and Horde | Player addon scans of the beta auction house (Classic Beta PvE 2), shared through TheWoWDB | A few scans a week; a market older than 72 hours stamps every unit no data. Each row shows its scan time | Forever zone pages, board, materials, ticker, daily note |
| Commodity prices, 7-day medians, listed units | Midnight US region | US commodity auction house snapshot stored in our own database | Daily; a snapshot older than 48 hours stamps every unit no data | Midnight zone pages, board, materials, ticker |
| Vendor prices, item names, quality colours, icons | Both | TheWoWDB item data (Forever) and the retail item datamine (Midnight). Icons are Blizzard's art, shown with credit | With each data build | The vendor floor on every row |
| What is found in each zone, and at what skill | Forever | Classic profession skill tables and zone lists (public classic item and zone references), hand-checked; found-here tiers are editorial | Curated; checked 2026-10 | Zone ledgers, materials pages, zone rank |
| Zone art, flight points, Midnight points of interest | Both | Zone art from the retail build 12.0.7; Forever flight points datamined from build 1.60.1; Midnight points of interest from the game files | Per game build | Every zone map |
| Suggested loops | Both | Hand-traced on the real map art along roads and named landmarks, with flight points as real pins. Not node positions; the site holds none | When a loop is drawn; the drawing date is in the zone file | Zone pages, zone of the day |
| Your market, professions, level, laps and units per lap | Whichever you chose | Only what you picked or typed. Stored in this browser, never sent anywhere | When you set them | The market bar, the lap ledger, your estimate |
Freshness right now
Each ring shows how much of a dataset's fresh window is left, recomputed from the file dates when you open this page. A red row is past its window and every unit from it reads no data.
Loading the freshness board from the data manifest. The table above holds the same provenance without it.
What an estimate is
The atlas prints prices, not yields. The one calculated figure is yours: type how many units you gathered on a lap and the zone page multiplies it by the net per unit and labels the result your estimate, in the same sentence as the figure.
net per unit = lowest listed price x (1 - 0.05)
your estimate = units per lap x net per unit, per lap, measured by you
0.05 is the auction house cut (AH_CUT in our code). Units per lap and lap times come only from you and stay in this browser.
- your estimateYour units per lap times today's net per unit. Inputs shown beside it.
- no dataWe have no basis for a figure, so we show none and say why: no scan, too few scan points, or a scan past its window.
- suggested loopA path traced on the map art. It is a suggestion, not a measurement, and every caption says so.
Privacy
The site has no accounts, no cookies of its own and no analytics script. Your market, professions, level, laps and units per lap live in this browser's local storage under keys that begin with gfv., and never leave it. Switching browsers or devices starts you empty; that is the trade for sending nothing.
Zone art and item icons are loaded from thewowdb.com, our sister site, so that host sees an ordinary image request. Fonts load from Google Fonts. Nothing else is requested.
Removes every gfv. key from this browser. Nothing to undo afterwards.
Questions players ask
Is gold farming allowed in WoW?
Yes. Earning gold in game by gathering, crafting, selling to vendors and trading on the auction house is normal play. Buying gold from a third party for real money is not.
Is buying WoW gold bannable?
Blizzard's rules prohibit trading gold for real money outside the WoW Token. Accounts on both sides of such a trade can be actioned, and the gold is often removed.
Are addons bots?
No. Addons that show information, scan the auction house or help you post auctions are allowed because you still press every button. Software that moves your character or plays for you is not.
Is the WoW Token legit?
Yes. On retail realms the WoW Token is sold by Blizzard inside the game and is the one sanctioned way to turn money into gold or gold into game time. WoW Forever has no Token, so the atlas gives no advice about one there.
Can I take gold for a dungeon or raid carry?
Trading in-game gold for an in-game service is allowed when Blizzard's advertising rules are followed. Taking real money for the same service is not, and this site never prices one.
Why does the atlas not show my realm?
WoW Forever has no realm in the retail sense: a market is a region, a ruleset and a faction, and the beta scans come from one realm standing in for each. Midnight commodity prices are region-wide, so the US figures apply to every US realm.
Why is there no gold per hour figure?
Because nobody here knows your rate. The atlas shows what a unit nets after the auction cut and whether that clears the vendor floor, dated and by market. If you type your own units per lap, the page multiplies it out and labels the result your estimate.
Are the loops node spawn maps?
No. Loops are suggestions traced on the real zone art along roads and named landmarks, with flight points as real pins. The site holds no node spawn data and never draws any.
What do I do if a number looks wrong?
Report it. Send the page address, the item, the market and the scan time you saw next to the number. A wrong number is a bug in the pipeline and gets fixed at the source file, not patched in copy.
Report a bad number
If a price, verdict or scan time on any page does not match what you see in game, tell us. Include the page address, the item, the market and the scan time next to the figure. We check it against the source file and fix the pipeline, not the sentence.
